PokerStars Announces Season 8 Schedule for the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, PokerStars announced the Season 8 schedule for the widely popular Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). Beginning Jan. 10 with the 20th celebration of the Macau Poker Cup (MPC20), the season consists of 13 main events and is highlighted by the addition of the famed Aussie Millions Poker Championship.
It was just one month ago that Crown Melbourne announced an agreement for the 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event to become a part of the PokerStars.net APPT. The 16th annual Aussie Millions will begin on Jan. 23 and feature the A$10,600 Main Event on Feb. 2, along with a A$25,000 Challenge, A$100,000 Challenge, and A$250,000 Challenge.
To grow the tour, all PokerStars poker festivals in the Asia-Pacific region have come together under one APPT roof, and Season 8 has added ANZPT events and PokerStars LIVE Macau events.
"Having the entire Asia-Pacific poker calendar, news, and updates in one location is huge," said APPT President Danny McDonagh. "The APPT website becomes much more user friendly, and improving the player experience is something we look to enhance each season."
