While the FTOPS win was the online highlight of Gruissem’s year, he’s actually up $49,505 playing cash games, which has come from 2,857 hands of primarily $50/$100 no-limit hold’em.
Here’s a look at Gruissem’s two biggest cash game pots of the year:
Hand #1: Action was five handed at a $50/$100 NLHE table when “4rebmun” ($15,580) opened for $300 under the gun and received calls from “limmouse” ($7,490.48) and “Shark2u” ($24,031.08) in the cutoff and button, respectively. After the small blind folded, Gruissem ($12,054) three-bet to $1,400 from the big. The original raiser folded, “limmouse” called, and “Shark2u” four-bet to $8,500. Gruissem responded with an all-in five-bet, which prompted “limmouse” to fold. “Shark2u” made the call and the board ran out 5♠6♦7♦3♣10♠. Gruissem tabled the Q♣Q♥, and it was good enough to win the $25,853 pot as “Shark2u” simply mucked.
Hand #2:
There’s still a month left in the year, which means Gruissem still has time to add to his accomplishments. Rest assured, if and when that happens, PokerNews will be sure to let you know.
