Dan Shak Hosting "All In for Kids" Charity Event On Nov. 14 in New York City
Notable hedge fund manager and champion poker player Dan Shak will be hosting the "All In for Kids" charity poker tournament on Thursday, Nov. 14 in New York City. The event will be held at the Mandarin Oriental New York and will be filmed for national television to air as part of a future World Poker Tour broadcast on Fox Sports Net.
Shak will be joined by 13-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth to emcee the event, along with Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, Andy Frankenberger, and Vanessa Selbst. Also expected to be in attendance are several notable Wall Street businessmen, athletes, and celebrities.
The event, sponsored in part by partypoker, will benefit the Pediatric Palliative Care Program and presented by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the WPT Foundation’s™ Playing for a Better World series of charity poker events, which supports worthy charities worldwide. In the past five years, this event has helped raise more than $4.3 million.
"The value of helping sick children recover from life-threatening illnesses and helping them find hope for a better tomorrow cannot be overstated," said WPT President Adam Pliska in a press release. "CHOP is at the forefront of this crucial mission and WPT Foundation is thrilled to help support their ongoing efforts to improve the lives of children in New York, Philadelphia, and from around the globe."
The event will begin Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. ET with registration, a poker tutorial session, buffet dinner, and cocktails. The tournament will begin at 7 p.m.
