2014 PPC North America Championship to be Held in July; PokerNews to Live Report 0001

From July 10-20, 2014, the Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs will play host to the 2014 Players Poker Championship North America Championship. This series will consist of nine events with $300,000 in guaranteed prize pools. What’s more, PokerNews will be live reporting the $580 Main Event.

“We couldn’t be more excited to make Silks Poker Room the home of our annual North America Championship,” said PPC Commissioner Sandy Swartzbaugh. “It’s a great compliment to our World Championship in Aruba. The affordable $580 buy-in, $200,000 guarantee has tons of value for not only the recreational player, but the traveling pro. Besides a big cash payout, the top four will also receive $5,000 packages to the 2014 PPC Aruba World Championship series in October 2014. The series kickoffs with a $175 buy-in, $50,000 guarantee and will feature a $580 buy-in, $200,000 guarantee Main Event. The $580 buy-in Main Event will run Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20. Players can buy-in any of the four Day-1 flights that will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday then carry their largest stack into Day 2. The fields combine on Sunday, July 20 to crown a champion and award Aruba packages to the top four finishers.

To help players plan their next PPC poker trip, 20% of the PPC North America Championship sub-event prize pools will go toward entries into the PPC Aruba World Championship that runs in October 2014. The PPC Aruba, which features a $2,200 buy-in, $200,000 Main Event, is the premier international stop on the PPC Poker Tour at the beautiful Radisson Aruba Resort.

Finally, the PPC Poker Tour has also announced that The Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs, which hosts cash games of all limits and offers a view of the racetrack finish line from almost every table, will hold four total PPC Poker Tour events in 2014. The first is the Winter Fest in January, followed by the Spring Poker Stakes in March, North America Championship in July and the last chance Fall Classic in September.
