For the past week, London has been a hotbed for poker thanks to the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) and European Poker Tours rolling into town. Among the highlights were Martin Finger winning the £50,000 Super High Roller, Vanessa Selbst and Phil Hellmuth earning titles; and of course the action from the Main Event. On Wednesday, Martin Jacobson added his name to the list of London winners by taking down the £2,000 No Limit Hold’em side event for – which attracted 181 players and created a prize pool of £351,140 — £77,780.

While Jacobson is a regular on the EPT – he finished runner-up in the EPT Deauville and EPT Vilamoura Main Events – he had yet to capture a title. Jacobson defeated Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov in heads-up play. According to the PokerStars Blog, half of Jacobson’s live tournament winnings ($1,860,498 of the $3,870,648) have come from the EPT, which puts him 20th on the tour's all-time money list.

Team PokerStars Pros Jonathan Duhamel and David Williams both cashed in the event, as did well-known pros Marvin Rettenmaier, Jesper Hoog, Randal Flowers, Ami Barer, Vadzim Markushevski and Michel Abecassis.
