A new era of online poker has arrived. Now, with the launch of WSOP.com, comes the first real challenge for Internet poker players in Nevada: the WSOP.com Online Championships.

The WSOP.com Online Championships is a series of nine events being held online at WSOP.com with loads of added money. What better way to get players to try out the new software than to offer early adopters extra-juicy prize pools?

The first event of the series is a $100K Freeroll on Oct. 25. Those eligible received a ticket by either registering an account this summer during the World Series of Poker, or by downloading the WSOP.com software and verifying their account by Sept. 30, then depositing by Oct. 15. If you happened to miss those dates, don't worry. There are eight other juicy events with plenty of added money up for grabs.

Following the $100K Freeroll and taking place each day from Oct. 26 through Nov. 2, the WSOP.com Online Championships will host one event each day. The schedule and event information can be viewed in the table below:

The $100K Freeroll will pay 20% of the field. The winner will bank a nice chunk of change for finishing first and then move on to play for even more real cash in a tournament that will make all participants a part of poker history, the $100K Champions Freeroll.

The first-place finishers from each of the nine events from the inaugural WSOP.com Online Championships will earn a seat in the $100K Champions Freeroll. These players, collectively named the "Online Nine," will compete against one another in a special sit-n-go at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino on Nov. 4 before the start of the 2013 WSOP Main Event final table. The nine players will play down to heads-up play, and then the final two players will return the following day to compete for the title. All of this will take place live at the Penn & Teller Theater. The winner will receive $50,000, second place will earn $30,000, and third place will take home $20,000.

The WSOP.com Online Championships are right around the corner. With $500,000 in added prize money, the WSOP is setting a very high standard for online poker in Nevada. That's right, half a million dollars will be added across all the events, and you won't want to miss out on this amazing value!
