Caribbean Poker Tour Set to Launch in November; Qualifiers Running Now 0001

Looking to escape from the cold this winter and grind on two of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean?

In November, on the wonderful island of Punta Cana, the Caribbean Poker Tour will launch with seven events, including the William Hill Poker Open, a $1,500 no-limit hold’em tournament. Later in the month, the tour will head over to neighboring St. Maarten for a dozen more events, including a World Poker Tour main event. There is also the Lucky Number 7 High Roller, a seven-handed, $7,000 buy-in tournament hosted by German pro Tobias Reinkemeier. The high roller features unlimited re-entries, with the first re-entry costing $6,000 and subsequent re-entries costing $5,000.

According to the CPT website, the average stack will be 100 big blinds after the re-entry period.

Players can qualify for CPT events online with iPoker, the tour’s main sponsor, or William Hill, Betfair, Winner Poker, Titan Poker, and a myriad of others. Three packages are up for grabs, including the Ultimate Caribbean Package (17 days worth €7,500), the St. Maarten Experience (10 days worth €5,000), and the Punta Cana Experience (seven days for €4,000).

“The CPT is the holiday of a lifetime with poker included,” CEO Leon Groenewoud told PokerNews. “This is an opportunity to take your friends and family with you, and they will love it. With each package you will play at least two tournaments, and you don’t need any money for food or drinks. With our adventure vouchers you can choose the activities you’ve always wanted to try.”

Among the activities offered at the two resorts, Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort Spa & Casino and Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, are swimming with dolphins, deep sea fishing, and catamaran sailing.

There is another way to escape to the beautiful Caribbean this November — win the “Crazy Video Contest.” CPT received videos up until Aug. 9, and the voting, which will take place on Facebook, begins on Sept. 9. On Sept. 30, the CPT will announce the top six vote earners, who will then make a second video. The winner of the second round will bank a one-week trip to the Caribbean from Nov. 7-14.

On Aug. 13, the CPT shared a link to one of the submissions on Facebook.
