Ultimate Poker Hosts First Regulated Real-Money Multi-Table Tournament in U.S.

The first legal, regulated real-money tournament in Nevada was played on Sunday at UltimatePoker.com. The inaugural multi-table tournament on the new site was a $100 buy-in with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, and the event reached its 200-player cap well before the first hand was dealt Sunday evening.

The total prize pool of $18,200 was distributed to the top 27 players. First place was awarded to "d4heals," who won $4,173 and the honor of being the first player to win a tournament in Nevada's legalized online poker market.

A $1,000 guaranteed nightly tournament was also completed on Sunday night. The $50 buy-in saw 75 players compete for a collective prize pool of $3,412. "MikeyMillz" took it down for $1,092.

The $10,000 Sunday event will be available every Sunday at 6 p.m. PST with satellites available daily for a chance to win a seat for free. Other promotions include a $10,000 freeroll, which is scheduled for May 26. Entry is free, and the promotion will pay out the top three finishers. A daily $100 freeroll is also available along with a daily Staycation freeroll for a chance to win a VIP staycation at any Station Casino property in Las Vegas.

On Monday, Ultimate Poker dealt its 300,000th cash game hand, less than a week after becoming the first-ever regulated online poker room to deal a legal hand of online poker in the U.S.
