Pros Discuss How Moneymaker's WSOP Main Event Win Changed the Poker Landscape

The 2013 World Series of Poker is getting closer and closer. The greatest poker festival on the planet will kick off on May 29, 2013, and once again, PokeNews will be the official live reporting team for the entire event.

What makes this year's WSOP so special is that it is the 10th anniversary of Chris Moneymaker's history-changing victory in the Main Event. Not only did Moneymaker change his life by defeating Sammy Farha to win the then record-breaking $2.5 million first-place prize, but he also changed the entire landscape of poker by becoming a key player — if not the most key player — in the ignition of the poker boom.

PokerNews' very own Sarah Grant caught up with a few players while at the 2013 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final to ask them how they felt Moneymaker's win changed the game and what it meant to them as players. Team PokerStars Pros Angel Guillen and Chad Brown weigh in, as well as Paul Berende. The man himself, Moneymaker, even discusses how he feels poker has evolved since his big win.

Don't forget, PokerNews will be your one-stop shop for all things WSOP, so be sure to stay tuned daily to these pages for more and more Series-related material.
