PokerStars Announces Schedule for Season 10 of the European Poker Tour
On Monday, PokerStars announced the schedule for Season 10 of the European Poker Tour. The season will feature a total of eight events, beginning in Barcelona on August 28, 2013 and concluding in Monaco with the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final on April 23.
Stop | Festival Start | Festival End | Main Event Start | Year |
---|---|---|---|---|
Barcelona | Aug. 28 | Sept. 7 | Sept. 1 | 2013 |
London | Oct. 2 | Oct. 12 | Oct. 6 | 2013 |
Prague | Dec. 8 | Dec. 18 | Dec. 12 | 2013 |
Caribbean Adventure | Jan. 4 | Jan. 13 | Jan. 5 | 2014 |
Deauvile | Jan. 22 | Feb. 1 | Jan. 22 | 2014 |
Berlin | Mar. 12 | Mar. 22 | Mar. 16 | 2014 |
Sanremo | Apr. 6 | Apr. 16 | Apr. 10 | 2014 |
Monaco | Apr. 23 | May 2 | Apr. 26 | 2014 |
The biggest change from Season 9 is the timing of the London and Sanremo (or San Remo) events. The festivals have been moved back to their previous dates of October and April, respectively.
“Players at the EPT will see that we have made a deliberate decision to focus on stability,” EPT President Edgar Stuchly said in a release. “During a successful Season 9, where we decided to host fewer and bigger events incorporating the national tours, we listened to an enormous amount of player feedback who valued less time spent traveling, and more time spent playing. Since the Sanremo tournament will be held immediately before the EPT Grand Final in April, it will mean players can spend the whole month of April on the beautiful Riviera.”
The EPT will continue their partnerships with regional tours such as the Estrellas Poker Tour and the UK & Ireland Poker Tour. In Season 9, these various partnerships created true poker festivals, generating massive field sizes and prize pools. There will also be a €10,000/£10,000 High Roller in Barcelona, London, Prague, Deauville, Berlin and Sanremo, plus €50,000/£50,000 events in Barcelona and London. Both the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and Grand Final will have a $25,000/€25,000 High Roller and a $100,000/€100,000 Super High Roller.
“[I’m] really excited to see all of the top EPT stops back for Season 10,” Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu said. “I think this is the best schedule yet with several big festivals planned, which is great for those making the trip overseas. It really gives players bang for their buck with all of the side events available at each stop.”
EPT Season 10 online satellites will launch on Wednesday May 15 at 14:15 EDT, with a €1 freeze out for the first event in Barcelona. Two full €8,300 packages are guaranteed.
