Video: Michael Phelps Makes His World Series of Poker Debut

1 min read

Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, made his World Series of Poker debut on Wednesday night, buying in to the $5,000 no-limit hold'em event, the first open event at the 44th Annual WSOP. Although Phelps doesn't have an overwhelming stack moving into day 2, with just over 20,000 in chips, he is one of the 232 remaining players in the field.

Phelps isn't a first timer at the poker table and was most recently seen on the felt during the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Sarah Grant caught up with Phelps during the dinner break to discuss the transition from swimming to poker, how his first day at the WSOP was going, and more.
