Day 1b of the PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Melbourne Repechage Main Event continued on Friday with the second of three starting flights at Crown Casino in Melbourne. A total of 252 players registered for Day 1b to increase the total field to 476 after the first two flights. Only 28 survived on Day 1b, surprisingly less than Day 1a's number even though it had fewer entries.

After 13 levels of play, Daniel Neilson emerged as the Day 1b leader with a whopping 613,000 in chips. His stack almost doubles that of Day 1a chip leader Anthony Hachem’s 386,000. Neilson won a big pot during the end of the day that propelled him to almost 400,000 in chips, and he never looked back.
