Fantasy Poker Manager

Fantasy poker is extremely popular with some huge sums of money exchanging hands during major festivals such as the World Series of Poker. The main problem with Fantasy Poker is that it is quite resource intensive and relies on someone – usually the one who has drawn the short straw – to compile all the data and total the scores.

Now, thanks to the Global Poker Index, there is a superb free application that will take the pain away from Fantasy Poker and to a whole new level: Fantasy Poker Manager.

Launching today on Facebook, the GPI Fantasy Poker Manager is sure to be a massive hit with poker players and fans. I am also positive that certain members of the poker media (read that as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team) will be using the Fantasy Poker Manager app during the upcoming EPT Deauville Main Event!

For those of you new to the concept of fantasy poker, let us explain it to you. Like fantasy football, you are given a budget, and with this budget you have to pick a number of poker players. When these poker players finish in the money places of real poker events, you are awarded points. Finish with the most points and you win. It really is as simple as that.

In Fantasy Poker Manager, you begin with an available budget of 1 million credits, with which you need to purchase up to 10 players. A player’s value is determined by two factors, the first being their Global Poker Index ranking, and the second being a popularity factor that can increase or decrease a player’s value.

The Facebook App allows you to create leagues, challenge friends in one-on-one contests and much more! For a more in-depth user guide and to read how to start with Fantasy Poker Manager, click the relevant links and you will be whisked away to the Global Poker Index site.

We fully expect poker pros to use Fantasy Poker Manager as a platform to run their fantasy drafts. One such pro is back-to-back World Poker Tour champion Marvin Rettenmaier, who seems rather excited about the prospect of playing fantasy poker!

Alex Dreyfus, CEO of Zokay Entertaiment, owners of the Global Poker Index, had this to say about the Fantasy Poker Manager: “The Fantasy Poker Manager fills an important spot in the poker community, acting as a bridge between online poker, social poker and live tournament poker. It will help promote poker as the sport that it is and will bring the fans and professionals of poker closer together. The Fantasy Poker Manager is a natural extension for the GPI, which is the best and most recognized ranking system of poker players worldwide.”

Try out the Fantasy Poker Manager app today and build your dream poker team!
