The Online Railbird Report: Georgi First Over $1 Million, Blom Drops $224K, Plus Trickett's Back
The FTOPS XXI has come to a close, and it seems players were keen to take a little break before the holidays as the last week of high-stakes online action was uncharacteristically slow. For the past few weeks, the high-stakes games have spread more regularly on Full Tilt Poker than on PokerStars, and that trend continued this week as the mysterious “Schoitl” finished as the biggest winner with $394,679 in profit from 4,461 hands over 32 sessions.

What’s more, the next four biggest winners all came from FTP, including Sebastien “Seb86” Sabic (+$222,001 in 46 sessions/4,139 hands), “Sanlker” (+$208,658 in 15 sessions/1,004 hands), Davin “davin77” Georgi (+$172,894 in 82 sessions/11,253 hands) and Sam “S3 TRX” Trickett (+$171,307 in 33 sessions/2,237 hands).
On the flip side, last week’s biggest winner with $1.1 million in profit, current FTP Professional Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, finished as this week’s second biggest loser after dropping $224,489 in 1,737 hands spread across 27 sessions. Only “patpatpanda” lost more, dropping $321,340 in 2,710 hands across 17 sessions. Interestingly enough, Phil “Polarizing” Ivey, who returned to the FTP tables last week, lost $207,246 in 27 sessions/1,175 hands.
Blom & “Sanlker” Find Mixed Results In $300/$600 NLHE Action
On Thursday, Dec. 13, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom took to the $300/$600 No-Limit Hold’em tables on Full Tilt Poker and played against “Sanlker” and “Trueteller”. Blom managed to take approximately $110,000 from the latter, though he later dropped $143,000 to the former. When the day ended, Blom was down $153,000, and “Sanlker” was the day’s biggest winner with $150,700 in profit.
In the day’s biggest pot, action was heads-up when “Sanlker” ($98,287.94) opened for $1,200 and then called when Blom ($33,482.55) three-bet to $3,600. When the flop fell 10♠4♥5♦, Blom took the initiative and led out for $3,600, which “Sanlker” quickly raised to $7,925. Blom made the call and then both players checked the J♥ turn, which brought about the J♠ on the river. Blom checked, “Sanlker” moved all in, and the Swede called off his remaining $21,957.54. Unfortunately for him, he could only muck when “Sanlker” tabled the 10♥Q♦ to take down the $66,965 pot.
In another notable hand, one that Blom also lost, action was once again heads-up, though this time against “bbvisbadforme”. The duel began when Blom ($29,979.65) opened for $1,200 and then called when “bbvisbadforme” ($131,451.50) three-bet to $3,200. The latter then led out for $3,600 on the 4♥10♠J♦ flop, Blom called, and the 8♣ appeared on the turn. Again Blom called a bet, this time for $7,800, and then “bbvisbadforme” bet enough to put his opponent all in on the Q♣ river. Blom called off his last $15,379.64 but mucked when his opponent rolled over 9♥2♥ for a straight. Ship the $59,959 pot to “bbvisbadforme.”
It’s also worth noting that both Gus Hansen and Eugene “fishosaurusREX” Katchalov won on FTP on Thursday, banking $90,700 and $82,600, respectively.
“Schoitl” & Trickett Dominate Monday’s $200/$400 CAP PLO Action
After a slow weekend, the big games returned on Monday on both FTP and PokerStars. On FTP, Sam “S3 TRX” Trickett played $200/$400 CAP PLO and walked away a $307,000 winner, mostly from two 90-minute sessions. “Schoitl” also did well in Monday’s game, winning nearly $280,000. Other six-figure FTP winners included “mikki696”, Benny “pyschobenny” Spindler and Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene.
On the flip side, Rafi “howisitfeellike” Amit finished as the day’s biggest loser ($200,000); however, his misery had the company of “patpatpanda” and Davin “davin77” Georgi, who both finished as six-figure losers.
In the day’s biggest pot, action was four-handed when Rob “Vaga_Lion” Akery ($33593) opened for $800 under the gun, Ben “1Mastermind”Chen ($20,797.50) three-bet to $3,000, “Schoitl” ($69,423.50) called, and Trickett ($59,382) four-bet to $12,800. Akery called, Chen capped it at $19,000, and the rest of the players called.
Chen: A♥6♥7♣5♣
Akery: 6♠3♠4♠7♥
Trickett: K♦K♥5♥8♦
“Schoitl”: A♠8♠Q♣9♣
The Q♠A♣2♥ flop was kind to “Schoitl” as it delivered him two pair, though the 9♥ turn gave Chen the nut-flush draw. While the Q♥ river actually gave it to him, it also have “Schoitl” a full house and the $76,000 pot.
In another notable hand, action was six-handed when Akery ($36,011.50) opened for $800 under the gun and Georgi ($50,866) three-bet to $3,000 from the hijack. “Schoitl” ($41,528) called from the button, Trickett ($67,845) did the same from the big blind, and Akery called the additional $2,200, making it four-way action to the 6♠10♥K♠ flop. Trickett immediately led out for $12,200, Akery folded, and Georgi capped it at $13,000 even. Both “Schoitl” and Trickett called and the cards were turned up:
Georgi: A♣K♦Q♦5♦
Trickett: 10♣10♦7♥7♣
“Schoitl”: A♥K♥Q♠4♠
The 6♠10♥K♠ flop gave Trickett a set of tens, but the 5♠ turn provided “Schoitl a flush. The 8♦ failed to pair the board on the river, and “Schoitl” was pushed the $51,200 pot.
Georgi Becomes First Player To Win $1 Million On Full Tilt Poker
The return of Full Tilt Poker brought with it the return of some high-stakes professionals including Davin “davin77” Georgi, who won $224,900 on Wednesday to put him over a $1 million in winnings on the once-vilified site. Georgi has been doing it at the $200/$400 CAP PLO games, which is where his latest win came from.
In his biggest pot, action was three-handed when Georgi ($67,365) opened for $800 on the button and Chen ($22,201) three-bet to $2,800 from the small blind. “Schoitl” ($54,607.50) called from the big, as did Georgi, and all three players saw a flop of 4♥5♦10♣. Chen led out for $8,400, “Schoitl” called, and then both of those players called when Georgi capped it at $13,200, creating a pot worth $48,000.
Georgi: A♣4♣10♠8♦
Chen: Q♠Q♦9♥9♦
“Schoitl”: A♦Q♥3♠7♣
The 4♥5♦10♣ flop delivered the lead to Georgi with two pair, but it was the running 3♣ turn and 5♣ river that gave him a flush and the win.
