The Sunday Briefing: Max "$kill Game" Weinberg Among Winners on Double Vision Sunday

For the third time, PokerStars offered several of the Sunday Majors twice as part of its Double Vision Sunday promotion. The result? Eight players earned six-figure scores, led by the $219,425.24 that "Akademnuk" earned for winning the Sunday Million. Joao "Joao M." Marcelo Andrade, Kevin "flopped6810" Sharp, and Max "$kill Game" Weinberg were among the other six-figure tournament winners yesterday. Also victorious on Sunday were Alexander "RedIceRap" Gerlach and Pat "obiedman" O'Brien.

PokerStars Sunday Million ($1M Guaranteed)

Felipe "mojave14" Ramos (11th - $8,588.89) and Adam "Roothlus" Levy (27th - $3,531.88) made deep runs in the Sunday Million, each making the final three tables. A heads-up deal at the end guaranteed each player about $200,000 with $20,000 still left to play for. "Akademnuk" and "Kabira" didn't waste much time, getting the chips into the middle in a standard race. "Kabira," the shorter stack, looked to hold with 5♠5♣ against the A♦J♣ of "Akademnuk," but the board ran out A♠2♠2♣9♦3♥ to lock up the victory for "Akademnuk."

PokerStars Sunday Million II ($1M Guaranteed)

Notables who went deep in the Sunday Million II were Ryan "RJules12" Julius (11th - $6,910.12), James "j_t_s80" Broom (15th - $5,123.02), Tom “7tHEcROw7” MacDonald (18th - $3,335.92), and Jeremiah "Believer82" Vinsant (24th - $2,799.79). After a six-handed deal, Joao "Joao M." Marcelo Andrade was the last man standing, earning $147,233.14.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up ($500K Guaranteed)

Making deep runs in the Sunday Warm-Up were Justin "looshle" Pechie (12th - $4,878), Nick "PureCash25" Rampone (13th - $3,658.50), and Dylan "WhiteRabbito" Honeyman (23rd - $2,073.15). A heads-up deal took place, guaranteeing six figures for the final two. Earning the victory, though, was Kevin "flopped6810" Sharp for $114,542.87.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up II ($500K Guaranteed)

Two of Latin America's best made the Sunday Warm-Up II final table as Leandro "leopeluca" Csome and Bolivar "Ramux" Palacios finished in third and fifth place, respectively. Notching the victory following a heads-up deal was Max "$kill Game" Weinberg for $114,191.11.

PokerStars Sunday 500 ($300K Guaranteed)

Among the many notables to go deep in the Sunday 500 were Mike "StrungOut1" Wasserman (12th - $4,325), Vojtech "Vojta_R" Ruzicka (14th - $3,460), Steve "mcnallyville" McNally (18th - $2,595), Kevin "BeL0WaBoVe" Saul (24th - $1,946.25), Toni Judet (25th - $1,946.25), Shane "shaniac" Schleger (26th - $1,946.25), Igor "lechuckpoker" Kurganov (28th - $1,730), and Victor Ramdin (30th - $1,730). Taking it down outright was Alexander "RedIceRap" Gerlach for $77,850.

PokerStars $109 Sunday Rebuy ($225K Guaranteed)

Posting solid showings in the $109 Sunday Rebuy were Jon "TherookieQQ9" Plens (16th - $2,363.14), Rick "ThEcLaiMEer" Trigg (19th - $1,743.30), Keith "The Camel" Hawkins (21st - $1,743.30), and Eric "Ericb09" Blair (25th - $1,743.30). Pat "obiedman" O'Brien won the event outright for $70,894.20.

PokerStars Bigger $109 ($160K Guaranteed)

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan "johnduhamel" Duhamel posted a nice showing in the Bigger $109, finishing thirteenth for $1,622.12. Taking it down outright was "jonito21," defeating Brendon "brendon1717" Rubie heads-up for the $53,616.31 first-place prize.

PokerStars Bigger $162 ($150K Guaranteed)

Among those who made deep runs in the Bigger $162 were Keith "The Camel" Hawkins (17th - $1,170.45) and Scott "PokerToronto" Desveaux (18th - $1,170.45). Taking it down outright was online tournament grinder "zugzwang16" for $41,616.65.

PokerStars Sunday 2nd Chance ($175K Guaranteed)

Matthias "goodvibe1" Neu (14th - $1,882.24), Luke "LukeFromB13" Staudenmaier (15th - $1,882.24), and Dan "Danny98765" Smith (16th - $1,328.64) each barely missed out on the Sunday 2nd Chance final table. Earning the victory outright was "1stAir" for $47,056.

PokerStars Sunday Storm ($300K Guaranteed)

The massive Sunday Storm this week drew a whopping 42,160 players. Outlasting them all was "malika1989" for $34,193.93.

PokerStars Sunday Storm II ($300K Guaranteed)

A three-handed deal took place in the Sunday Storm II. Emerging from the pack was "tolstar36," earning $25,337.99 for the victory.

Making a deep run in the Sunday Kickoff was Ashley "DYBYDX" Mason (20th - $816.32). Following a three-handed deal, "clAAs22" came away with the win.

Dominik "bastet2004" Stopka just missed out on the final table of the Sunday Kickof II, finishing in eleventh place for $1,706.80. Another three-handed deal took place here, with "Pavel_Frants" coming out on top.
