PokerStars.fr France Poker Series Snowfest Day 1b: Darcourt Leads

Day 1b of the PokerStars.fr France Poker Series Snowfest Evian attracted 193 entrants, almost double the field of Day 1a. Throughout both Day 1 flights, 296 players entered, creating a prize pool of €286,000. By the end of Day 1b, Guillaume Darcourt had established himself as the man to beat, bagging 222,500 in chips.

Day 1b was the chosen day of play for Team Pokerstars Pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Arnaud Mattern, and Eugene Katchalov, as well as 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Fabrice Soulier (60,000) and 2012 EPT Deauville runner-up Paul Guichard (82,000).

Katchalov ended the day with 75,000, while Mattern finished with a stack of 22,000, well below the 50,789 chips average. Grospellier was eliminated mid-afternoon, but his girlfriend, Cathy Hong, had a strong day, and will head into Day 3 with 95,000.
