Anton Karasinsky Wins PokerStars.it Italian Poker Tour Nova Gorica
The seventh stop of the PokerStars.it Italian Poker Tour has come to an end. IPT Nova Gorica attracted 286 players, creating a €572,000 prize pool. Anton Karasinsky won the title at IPT Nova Gorica after defeating Carla Solinas in a two-hour heads-up match.
On Tuesday all eyes were on Solinas, who would have become the first woman to win an IPT tournament. However, Karasinsky proved to be a stronger heads-up opponent. Even though Solinas began the heads-up match with a slight lead, Karasinsky was able to overtake her.
In the final hand, Solinas was all in with 6♠5♠ against Karasinsky, who was holding 9♦9♠. The board rolled out J♦2♣J♣A♦Q♥ giving the victory to Karasinsky.
Karasinsky took home the PokerStars trophy €140,000.
This IPT stop ends the regular season. Now the tour is moving to Campione d’Italia (March 22 through 26) for the Mini IPT Grand Final and to Sanremo (May 3 through 7) for the IPT Grand Final. Both events will determine the winners of the IPT and Mini IPT leaderboards.
