PartyPoker PokerFest

This week in the PartyPoker Weekly, we'll tell you all about the start of the inaugural PokerFest, how to win your way to the World Poker Tour, and the latest from Tony G’s blog where he discusses going up against Phil Hellmuth and Team America at the Caesars Cup.

PartyPoker PokerFest Kicks Off With a Bang

The first event of the PartyPoker PokerFest has finally entered the record books. The 1,657 players who entered created a $331,400 prize pool for the $215 buy-in $300,000 Guaranteed opening event.

The winner, "Kaeresen," took home $64,623 for the first-place finish. Three other PokerFest events also took place Monday, and it is already shaping up to be one of must-play tournament series on the poker calendar.

PokerFest features 47 championship events over a two-week series, which takes place from Oct. 23 through Nov. 6. A massive $3 million in guarantees is up for grabs during the PokerFest, which is already set to become one of the staple series on the online tournament calendar.

PartyPoker Pokerfest 2011

  • A total of 47 events
  • When: Oct. 23 through Nov. 6
  • $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event on the Nov. 6
  • Qualify for as little as $1 from now

Satellites to several of the PokerFest events are now running in the PartyPoker client, with qualifiers starting as low as $1. Turn your $1 investment into a shot at a $1 million prize pool in the PokerFest Main Event on Nov. 6.

See Tony G’s Blog to watch a video of him challenging the poker world to take him on in the PartyPoker PokerFest where he says, “47 events, $3 Million up for grabs, see if you can take some of that money away. Anything you win you will be stealing from me!”

Tony G And The Caesars Cup

The 2011 Caesars Cup recently came to a close during the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe, and Tony G was there as part of Team Europe, which went up against Team America. Before the event kicked off, Tony G had a few things to say about Team America, which was captained by Phil Hellmuth:

"I am going to tilt the hell out of America’s captain Phil Hellmuth — he’ll want to avoid me like the plague. The Americans are drawing their pensions, half of their first choices couldn’t even leave their retirement homes to travel. Jason Mercier? Heard he is lucky, I prefer Isabelle Mercier? Daniel Negreanu — nippy Chihuahua, he’ll whine more about being homesick when I have finished with him. Johnny Chan, I prefer Jackie Chan — rush hour — time to get on your bike Johnny. Ben Lamb — to the slaughter! They are all lambs and Ben will be silenced."

Tony G was his usual confident self prior to the tournament, but Team America ended up winning the event. We are sure Tony G will have something to say on his blog about the loss sometime this week.

A full recap of the Caesars Cup can be found in the PokerNews Live Reporting Blog, and you can read all about Tony G’s shenanigans in the lead-up to the event on Tony G’s Blog.

Win Your Way to The WPT

Time is running out to win your way to the World Poker Tour Amneville, which takes place on Nov. 1. A package that includes the $5,000 buy-in to the Main Event, $1,100 spending money, hotel accommodation and the famous PartyPoker hospitality can be won for only a pittance of the enormous value, so be sure to hit the felt at PartyPoker over the next week to lock up a package.

After players return from Amneville, the spotlight will descend upon the Czech Republic as WPT Bohemia kicks off from Nov. 18. The $2,150 event is very affordable and in a beautiful location, so it is set to attract players of all bankrolls and skill levels. A $2,000 tournament package up for grabs on PartyPoker includes buy-in, hotels and some spending money.

WPT Prague is the latest stop to be added to the World Poker Tour, and is set to become a welcome addition to the tour. It kicks off on Dec. 1, so there is still plenty of time to head over to PartyPoker and lock up a $7,500 package which includes the Main Event buy-in, hotel accommodation and $1,300 in spending money.
