The Online Railbird Report: Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer On Top, Hansen Quiet
For the first time in quite a while, Gus Hansen was not the big story of the Full Tilt Poker high-stakes tables. Although he did play a decent amount this weekend, he lost about $45,000 the last few days, making way for others to rise higher on the leaderboard. One of the climbers was Scott "URnotINdanger2" Palmer, who netted the biggest profit over the weekend. Also in the black was Rami "Arbianight" Boukai, while Marcello "luckexpress10" Marigliano was one of the losers.
Palmer Cruises Against cadillac1944
Playing heads-up $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha against "cadillac1944," Palmer raised to $1,200 on the button and his opponent popped it to $3,600. Palmer called and the flop came down K♥J♦3♣. Cadillac1944 bet the $7,200 pot and Palmer raised to $28,800 but was met with a reraise all-in for just under $70,000. Palmer called for his remaining $19,792. The hands were:
Palmer: K♦6♥3♥3♦
cadillac1944: A♥Q♦10♦9♦
Palmer’s bottom set was up against the massive wrap, and when the A♦ hit the turn, Palmer needed the board to pair. Sure enough, the 3♠ hit and gave Palmer quads to win the pot worth just greater than $104,000.
He took another $26,000 off cadillac1944 a few minutes later. Once again, Palmer's $1,200 button raise was reraised to $3,600. A K♠7♦6♦ flop followed after Palmer called and cadillac1944 fired $7,200. Palmer raised the pot and cadillac1944 called for just under $16,000 with A♥10♦9♥8♥ for multiple straight draws while Palmer held Q♦8♦6♠4♦ for bottom pair, a flush draw, and a straight draw. The 4♥ turn card made two pair for Palmer. He then dodged cadillac1944 's outs when the A♣ landed on the river to lock up the pot.
Boukai Bests Marigliano
Rami "Arbianight" Boukai enjoyed the second-biggest gain over the last few days while Marcello "luckexpress10" Marigliano found himself the biggest loser. The two clashed at $300/$600 pot-limit Omaha on Saturday with Boukai getting the better of it in this pot. He min-raised to $1,200 on the button and Marigliano called, leading to a A♠J♥4♦ flop. It was checked over to Boukai, and he bet $1,800, quickly getting raised to $6,000. Boukai called and the 9♦ fell on fourth street. Marigliano fired the pot of $14,400 and Boukai called with the 3♠ landing on fifth street. A shove from Marigliano followed and Boukai called all-in for $28,500, revealing A♦2♦2♠5♥ for a rivered wheel, besting Marigliano's top-two pair to win the pot worth just over $100,000.
