The Online Railbird Report: Dwan's Domination Continues 0001

The live poker scene has been busy this week, but that has not stopped the high-stakes cash games online from producing some big winners and losers. Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Phil Ivey clashed earlier this week, as did Dwan and Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin. The result: Dwan banked almost another million and is rolling.

Dwan Gets The Better of Ivey This Time Around

Playing $500/$1,000 pot-limit-Omaha, the biggest pot between the two came in at about $450,000. Dwan had the button and raised to $3,000. Ivey popped it to $9,000 and durrrr four-bet to $27,000. Ivey called and the flop came down 5KJ. Ivey led out the pot of $54,000 and Dwan went all-in for the rest of his stack, roughly $197,000. Ivey called with JJ9K and held the lead with middle set against durrrr's AK5Q. Dwan took the lead on the turn when the 10 fell to make brodway and held up when the 3 hit the river, winning the $450,000 pot.

Another big pot between the two had similar preflop action. Dwan opened to $3,000 and Ivey raised to $9,000. Dwan made it $27,000 and Ivey five-bet to $81,000. Dwan called and the flop rolled out 9K10. Ivey bet the pot and durrrr called all-in for just more than $40,000. Ivey's AAJ9 was out-flopped by durrrr's KKQ7. The J turn card gave Dwan a straight and left Ivey looking for a queen to make a better straight, but it was not meant to be as the 2 fell. The $243,000 pot went Dwan's way.

Tough Few Days For Hansen

Gus Hansen is down about a half a million this week. In a heads-up battle against "skjervoy" at $500/$1,000 pot-limit Omaha, skjervoy had the button and raised to $3,000. Hansen bumped it to $9,000 and skjervoy called. The flop fell Q83 and Gus check-called a bet of $7,500. The 6 hit the turn and Hansen fired a pot-sized bet of $33,000. The next move from skjervoy was all-in for just a little bit more and Hansen called all-in for his remaining $8,000 with 6377 for bottom-two pair and a flush draw. Skjervoy was ahead with QQJ9 for top set and they decided to run it twice. Both halves went to skjervoy as the respective river cards were the 9 and K, missing Hansen's flush draw both times and sending the $115,000 pot to skjervoy.

Hansen also mixed it up with Ashton "theASHMAN103" Griffin at $500/$1,000 pot-limit Omaha. Gus limp-called a $3,000 raise from Griffin and the flop came down JKA. Griffin bet $5,500 and Hansen called. The turn brought the 8 and Griffin put out a bet of $11,500. Gus raised all-in for roughly $46,000 and Griffin called all-in for about $30,000 with 107AQ, the nut straight and nut-flush draw. Hansen tabled K4J7 for two pair and an inferior flush draw. They decided to run it twice and Griffin took both halves down as the rivers blanked for Gus.
