PokerNews announced today the merger between PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific) magazine and Bluff Australasia magazine. Following the merger, Bluff Australasia will no longer be published and the magazine will proceed under the PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific) banner.

The region’s two dominant poker media brands will be brought together with this merger. In addition, Australia’s leading poker website, PokerNetwork, will be managed and operated by the newly merged magazine.

“We’re excited by the opportunities to build on the foundations formed by both brands and establishing PokerNetwork as the preeminent poker media organization in this region,” said Sean Callander, the newly named publisher for PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific) magazine and PokerNetwork.

Kirsty Mullins will remain the editor for PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific), Heath Chick will remain the editor for PokerNetwork, and Stephen Doig will become the general manager of PokerNews (Australia, Asia, and Pacific).

“We are delighted to be working with Sean and Stephen,” said Damon Rasheed, Chief Consultant for PokerNews. “Joining forces will enable us to take our magazine to the next level, by using their considerable expertise, which will benefit all poker fans and advertisers in the region.”

PokerNews (Australia, Asia and Pacific) magazine will continue to be published bi-monthly, with plans for monthly distribution, as well as Asian-language editions to begin in early 2010.
