Ben ‘bonafidedonkey’ Palmer Takes Down Full Tilt $1K Monday
This week’s $1K Monday on Full Tilt Poker drew a crowd of 401, with the winner receiving a six-figure score of $100,250. Among those going deep in the event but falling short of the final table were Jonathan “BlackJackLeak” Paul in 11th ($4,611.50), David “Bussa Buss” Baker in 12th ($4,611.50), Tim “BegsClutch” Begley in 14th ($3,609), Eric “sheets” Haber in 15th ($3,609), and Jonathan “xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis in 16th ($2,807). In the end, Ben “bonafidedonkey” Palmer overcame a severe chip deficit not just once, but twice, to seize the victory.
Dan “Wretchy” Martin and I CaioPimenta I were the first two players eliminated from the final table, both ousted in the same hand by way of Felipe “clotilda” Montenegro during the 2,500/5,000/600 level. Under the gun, Martin pushed all in for 67,146 and Montenegro reraised all in from the cutoff. I CaioPimenta I called all in as well for just over 60,000 from the button. The hands were revealed to be A♦Q♠ for Martin, A♥Q♦ for I CaioPimenta I, and 8♦8♣ for Montenegro. The board rolled out K♦6♠8♠Q♥K♣ as Montenegro boosted his stack, sending I CaioPimenta I to the rail in ninth place for $8,020 and Dan “Wretchy” Martin in eighth place for $10,025.

The next player to head for the exit was matt126912 at 3,000/6,000/750. With the board reading 4♣K♦7♣, matt126912 got it all in with A♦A♣ against JASTER666’s K♠J♥. However, the J♣ landed on the turn and matt126912 found no help on the river, taking seventh place for $13,032.50. A few hands later, carter8080’s tournament was on the line with 9♦9♥ against konelao405’s A♥K♥. The community cards fell K♦K♠7♣7♥2♦ as carter8080 came up on the losing end of the coinflip, out in sixth place for $20,050.
Felipe “clotilda” Montenegro busted after tangling with chip leader JASTER666 in a battle of the blinds. Montenegro made it 15,300 from the small blind and JASTER666 shoved from the big blind. Montenegro called all in for 201,105 with 7♣7♠ and found himself racing against JASTER666’s A♦Q♦. The board ran out 8♦4♦K♣2♦J♦ as Montenegro could not beat JASTER666’s flush, taking fifth place for $27,067.50. THE_TRASHMAN went out next, finishing in fourth place for $36,090 after shoving with K♥Q♣ and finding action from both konelao405 and JASTER666. The pot was isolated by konelao405 on the turn with the board reading 5♦9♣6♥K♠ and konelao405’s 9♦9♥ had the hand clinched as THE_TRASHMAN bid adieu.
JASTER666 bowed out in third place at the 6,000/12,000/1,500 level. Having become the short stack at the table, JASTER666 got it all in for just over 300,000 with K♥Q♣ and was facing konelao405’s A♥J♣. The board came down J♥8♣9♦5♥8♠ and JASTER666 was out in third place for $46,115.
That hand gave konelao405 a 2-to-1 chip lead going into heads-up play, but Ben “bonafidedonkey” Palmer battled back and won the match. On the final hand at 8,000/16,000/2,000, konelao405 raised to 48,000 and Palmer reraised to 185,000. Konelao405 shoved for 640,904 and Palmer called with 8♣8♠, trailing konelao405’s J♦J♠. But the board ran out 5♦2♥8♦K♠4♣ and konelao405 was knocked out in second place for $62,155. The winner of the Full Tilt $1K Monday was Ben “bonafidedonkey” Palmer for $100,250.
