WSOP-Circuit Caesars Palace Stop Set for Kickoff
The World Series of Poker Circuit series' annual stop at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas is ready to get underway, with a 46-event schedule including 22 "ring events" running April 11-30, 2009. This is the fourth straight year that the WSOP-C has visited Caesars, one of Las Vegas' most popular poker destinations.
The schedule of events offers buy-ins ranging from $340 to the $5,150 Championship Event. That tourney is a four-day affair starting on April 27, and traditionally offers perhaps the strongest field of any WSOP tourney, as evidenced by the first three Caesars Championship Event winners – John Spadavecchia, Cory Carroll and Allen Cunningham. Other special items on the WSOP-C Caesars calendar include the ladies event, dubbed the "Cleopatra Open", which gets underway on April 25. Other special events include a one-day, double-stack turbo NLHE event on April 18, a short-handed event on April 14, and two Omaha tourneys on April 17 and 20.
