PartyPoker Monthly Million, ‘Million Dollar Race’ Approaching
Big events are fast approaching at PartyPoker as the month of May shapes up to be a knockout for one of the world’s most famed online poker sites. This Sunday brings the latest edition of the PartyPoker Monthly Million, one of the largest regularly scheduled poker tourneys on the Internet, and a brand new rake race, called the “Million Dollar Race,” will find 3,000 different players splitting up a cool million – and then some — in cash.
2009’s fourth occurrence of the PartyPoker.com Monthly Million gets underway at 12:45 ET (17:45 BT, 18:45 CET) on Sunday, May 3rd. Among a select handful of online, million-dollar-guarantee events, the PartyPoker Monthly Million carries a direct buy-in of $600+40. Other qualifying options are also available, with satellites at buy-in levels for every bankroll, all the way down to $1.
The biggest news, though, is the brand new Million Dollar Race, which begins Friday, May 1. The top 3,000 players will receive prizes, and depending on rank, players can receive cash and a WSOP* qualifying package. The Million Dollar Race winner will collect both $20,000 in cash and an exclusive WSOP travel package worth $20,000, and the top ten finishers will each receive both a cash prize and a WSOP event package.
