PokerStars.com EPT Copenhagen, Day 2: Anders Langset Heads Final 40
Action resumed on Thursday at the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour stop in Copenhagen, Denmark, with 184 survivors from twin opening sessions returning to battle down to the money. After only seven levels of play, the money bubble burst, with Norway's Anders Langsat emerging as the leader when the chips were bagged. Scandinavian players dominated the top spots, and no player from outside Europe survived into the money.
Langsat's 326,800 in chips will have in good shape entering Friday's Day 3, with Rasmus Nielsen and Peter Hedlund his closest competitors. Also still alive are Martin Wendt, Ramzi Jelassi, Thor Hansen, Andreas Hoivold, Andrea Benelli, Roberto Romanello, Ola Brandborn, Markus Lehmann, Frederik Hostrup and Remy Biechel. The day, however, brought the exit of many of the biggest names active as play began, including the entire surviving Team PokerStars contingent of Isabelle Mercier, Marcin Horecki, Noah Boeken and Luca Pagano. Those players were joined on the rail by Trond Erik Eidsvig, Danny Ryan, Annette Obrestad, Arnaud Mattern and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies. UK pro Andrew Feldman bubbled the money, finishing in 41st.
