Online Poker Weekend: Leandro 'Brasa' Pimentel Wins Full Tilt $1,000,000 Guarantee 0001

Sunday's two biggest online tournaments again continued their recent trends of approaching but ending up just shy of their guarantees, though the PokerStars Sunday Million and the Full Tilt $1,000,000 Guarantee still drew nearly 10,000 entrants between them. Doulas12 captured the PokerStars Sunday Million crown while Full Tilt Pro Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel took down the Full Tilt $1 Million Guarantee.

PokerStars Sunday Million

The PokerStars Sunday Million saw 7,446 entrants this week with a first-place prize of $184,500. Notable showings included Chris "brsavage" Savage in 29th ($2,700), Raymond "troyomac" McClure in 30th ($2,700) and Jon "PearlJammer" Turner in 50th ($2,400). The chip counts to start the final table were as follows:

joncheng - 13,267,676

Crackpfeife - 11,446,716

slumpee - 10,708,507

DragonBenoni - 9,545,453

anetas1 - 7,972,971

rimmer27 - 7,354,968

doulas12 - 6,192,690

petit ponche - 4,082,927

xannax20 - 3,888,092

Exiting the table first was xannax20, at the 250,000/500,000/50,000 level. From the cutoff and down to 2,918,092 in chips, xannax20 shoved K4 but Crackpfeife woke up with Big Slick on the button and reraised all in, isolating the action. The board brought no help to either as xannax20 finished ninth for $10,500. Falling next was petit ponche. From early position, slumpee made it 1.4 million to go, and from the small blind petit ponche moved all in for 4,035,854 with AJ. Slumpee called, showing KJ. The 767 flop kept petit ponche in the lead, but the K turn put Slumpee ahead. Adding insult to injury, the K fell on the river and petit ponche departed in eighth for $17,250. The next hand, joncheng opened to 1.5 million under the gun. Slumpee reraised from the big blind to 4.5 million and joncheng responded by shoving. Slumpee called all in and revealed AA, miles ahead of joncheng's AQ. However, the board ran out Q7J3K as joncheng pulled a runner-runner flush to crack aces, eliminating slumpee in seventh for $26,250.

Hitting the rail next was DragonBenoni. With the blinds and antes at 300,000/600,000/60,000, DragonBenoni moved all in from the cutoff for 5,752,489 with Q4 and found action from Crackpfeife in the small blind with A10. The board came ace-high, sending DragonBenoni home in sixth for $39,000. Saying goodbye next was rimmer27. At the 400,000/800,000/80,000 level, rimmer27 moved all in under the gun for 4,950,449 with AJ and was flat-called by anetas1 in the small blind with 88. The board rolled out KQ277 and rimmer27 was out, earning $54,000 for fifth. The remaining four players then agreed to a deal guaranteeing each the following amount and leaving $30,000 for the winner, with the chop guaranteeing these paydays:

anetas1: $125,824

joncheng: $106,024

Crackpfeife: $105,123

doulas12: $95,478

Joncheng was felted shortly after play resumed. Under the gun, Crackpfeife raised to 2,121,212 and joncheng made it 6,400,000 from the small blind, typing into the chatbox "gamble?" Crackpfeife responded by shoving with AJ and joncheng called all in with 33. The board nullified joncheng's small pair, coming out Q66Q8 and eliminating joncheng in fourth place for $106,024. After the blinds and antes were raised to 600,000/1,200,000/120,000, anetas1 fell in third place. On the button, anetas1 made it 3,000,000 to go and doulas12 moved all in from the small blind for over 38 million with AQ. Anetas1 called all in with 88 and it was off to the races. The flop came 54J keeping anetas1 ahead, but the K turn gave doulas12 several more outs. One of them came on fifth street, the 7, ending anetas1's tournament for $125,824.

Heads-up play began with these chip counts:

doulas12 - 58,602,932

Crackpfeife - 15,857,068

The battle lasted exactly one hand. Doulas12 moved all in on the button with A6 and Crackpfeife found A10 in the big blind, calling immediately. However, the flop paired doulas12, coming out 649. The J turn meant only a ten could save Crackpfeife, but the 9 hit the river instead, eliminating Crackpfeife as the runner-up for $105,123. Doulas12 won the Sunday Million, receiving the agreed-upon $95,478 and the winner's $30,000 reserve for a total of $125,478..

Final Results:

*1. doulas12 - $125,478

*2. Crackpfeife - $105,123

*3. anetas1 - $125,824

*4. joncheng - $106,024

5. rimmer27 - $54,000

6. DragonBenoni - $39,000

7. slumpee - $26,250

Full Tilt $1 Million Guarantee

This week, Full Tilt drew 1,943 participants to its $500+$35 event guaranteeing $1 million. Notable finishes included Don "Brian Stevens" Stevens in 16th place ($5,400), TheZadester in 20th ($4,000), James "P0KERPR0" Campbell in 23rd ($4,000), and Joe "Morneau" Dyzalot in 43rd ($2,500). Making the final table were Full Tilt Pro Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel and Shane "HateItOrLoveIt" Schleger. The chip counts at the beginning of the final table were as follows:

Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel - 1,961,546

Pippi78 - 1,297,458

Yevgeniy "bballer88" Timoshenko - 1,291,713

DeMaci - 1,155,818

ninivan - 1,119,529

I CaioPimenta I - 1,103,915

Spuch - 896,305

Shane "HateItOrLoveIt: Schleger - 470,780

DeuceBuster - 417,936

The first player to head to the rail was ninivan. At the 17,000/34,000/4,000 level, ninivan made a move with 99 on a KK4 flop, running into Yevgeniy "bballer88" Timoshenko's KQ. No nine showed to save ninivan, crippling his stack . He eventually finished ninth for $14,000. On the hand following ninvan's exit, DeuceBuster moved all in from the cutoff with A4, but ran into Timoshenko, who waited with AQ on the button. The board rolled out 2K3KJ, busting DeuceBuster in eighth for $18,500. Spuch was the next to go at the 25,000/50,000/6,000 level. Down to 211,620, Spuch was all in from the big blind with 105 but Timoshenko had AA. No miracle would come for Spuch, who earned $23,500 for seventh. Pippi78 improved on his tenth-place showing in the $750,000 Guarantee last week with a sixth-place effort here. Under the gun, Pippi78 opened to 180,000, and Shane "HateItOrLoveIt" Schleger shoved all in from the big blind. Pippi78 deliberated briefly before calling all in with AJ, which trailed Schleger's KK. The board rolled out QQ525, ending Pippi78's tournament in sixth for $32,200.

Yevgeniy "bballer88" Timoshenko busted next. With blinds now at 40,000/80,000 and a 10,000 ante, Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel made it 222,665 from the button and Timoshenko moved all in for 1,596,224. Brasa called for much of his stack and showed 99, leading Timoshenko's A8. The flop helped both players but put the hand well in Brasa's favor, coming 4A9. The 2 turn sealed the hand for Leandro, eliminating Yevgeniy "bballer88" Timoshenko in fifth place for $45,000. Heading home next was Shane "HateItOrLoveIt" Schleger. DeMaci opened to 229,666, and Schleger shoved from the button for 1,224,049. I CaioPimenta I then reshoved for nearly 3.5 million from the big blind and isolated the action, tabling QQ. Schleger's A9 found no help as the board came KK810J, and he exited with $59,000 for fourth.

Blinds and antes had reached the 50,000/100,000/10,000 level when DeMaci bowed out in third place. Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel opened to 245,665 from the button, and DeMaci moved all in from the big blind for 1,326,680 with 66. Brasa called immediately with AK, and won the pot after the board rolled out 7QJK3. DeMaci earned $74,000 for third place.

Heads-up play began with these chip counts:

Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel - 5,561,851

I CaioPimenta I - 4,063,149

The winner was determined on the seventh hand of heads-up play. I CaioPimenta I made it 235,000 to go but Brasa raised it up to 667,566. I CaioPimenta I called, bringing out a flop of Q72. Brasa checked and saw a bet of 776,248 from I CaioPimenta I, then moved all in all over the top. A quick call from I CaioPimenta I revealed QJ for top pair, which led against Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel's middle pair with K7. The 3 turn changed nothing, but the 7 on the river clinched the hand and the tournament for Brasa. I CaioPimenta I finished as runner-up for $113,000, as Full Tilt Pro Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel won the $1 Million Guarantee and its first-place prize of $184,000.

Final Results:

1. Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel - $184,000

2. I CaioPimenta I - $113,000

3. DeMaci - $74,000

4. Shane "HateItOrLoveIt" Schleger - $59,000

6. Pippi78 - $32,200

7. Spuch - $23,500
