2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Announced
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will return for its sixth edition in early 2009, according to information recently released by the popular online site. PokerStars has announced that the 2009 PCA – also an official stop on the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour – will be held January 4-10, 2008 at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.
As always, the event promises to draw a majority of the members of Team PokerStars Pro, with former WSOP Main Event winners Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymake among those scheduled to attend. Also listed as attending are Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, who won the 2008 edition of the PCA. Grospellier's win over a field of 1,136 contestants was worth $2 million, out of a total prize pool of $8,594,976. Said Grospellier, about his win: "The PCA is always a special tournament for poker players, especially because the location is so great, there are so many online qualifiers and the atmosphere is very special. Players are usually much younger, too, and I know many more of them as we always play with each other on PokerStars."
