Harrah's Announces 2008 WSOP Schedule Changes
Harrah's Entertainment has announced a schedule change for the 2008 World Series of Poker® Presented by Milwaukee's Best Light to be held this summer at the Rio® All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Two events have been flip-flopped in the revised schedule, one of which is the high-profile $50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E. tourney, which originated in 2006 and has quickly risen to become the second most important event on the WSOP calendar, following the Main Event itself.
The new dates for the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. tourney, now Event #45, are June 25-29, beginning at 5pm. The event changes positions with the former Event #45, $2,500 Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw Lowball. The deuce-to-seven tourney becomes Event #40 and moves to a starting time and date of noon on June 22nd. That tourney runs for three days.
Harrah's cited the need for the change to allow ESPN to provide expanded, extensive coverage of the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. As with last year, ESPN's coverage of the World Series of Poker will begin in July with action from preliminary events. The revised schedule remains available here on PokerNews.com.
