PokerNews Cup Update – Event 1 Starts Sunday, Play a $50k SNG with Tony G
This Sunday October 21 at 12:30pm AEST (GMT+10), the first-ever PokerNews Cup gets underway with the $175 No Limit Holdem. Over the following nine days there are six championship events, culminating in the three-day AUD$3,000 PokerNews Cup Main Event, which is expected to generate a prizepool of over $1M.
Our Live Reporting section will be the place to find live updates, chip counts, photos and videos from all of the championship events, plus the anticipated $10,000 PokerNews Australian Bad Boys of Poker. This single-table invite-only tournament features some of Australia's best known players such as Tony G, Jeff Lisandro, Mark Vos and Billy "The Croc" Argyros.
In addition to an already impressive schedule, Tony G has just announced he will host two high stakes sit-n-gos during the PokerNews Cup.
Each of these sit-n-gos has a buyin set at a whopping $50,000+$200, generating interest from professional poker players and high rollers alike. If you have the cash, you can sit down at one of these single table tournaments and match your skills against the man himself, Tony G. Tony is expected to be joined by other notable Aussie poker players, including Jeff Lisandro, Tino Lechich and Billy 'The Croc' Argyros. Like the Bad Boys event, expect the table talk to be constant as these poker heavyweights do battle in these high stakes sit-n-gos.
The $50,000+$200 PokerNews Cup Australia Sit-n-Gos kick off:
Friday October 26 at 18:00 AEST
Sunday October 28 at 16:00 AEST
The listing times for each sit-n-go will commence slightly before the start of each tournament.
The PokerNews Cup is the first time PokerNews has hosted a live tournament, and with over 100 international players attending, the Main Event is expected to attract over 400 runners. Make sure you stay tuned to PokerNews for all the action and results as they unfold.
