Online Poker Weekend: 'Pairofnothin' Captures Stars Sunday Million 0001

Overlay? What overlay? No big tournament series for awhile means that everyone gets to share the wealth, and the big three, PokerStars, Full Tilt and PartyPoker, all exceeded their usual guarantees. There's still lots of poker, and money, to go around for everyone.

PokerStars Sunday Million

As is typical for this event, PokerStars blazed past its guarantee. With 6,366 players, the prize pool was $1,273,200, and the winner would normally receive $183,086.16. 900 places paid.

On the very first hand of the final table, Binde made a big $2 million re-raise in late position, over the top of Pairofnothin's standard raise. Pairofnothin went all in, having Binde covered and then some, and Binde called. Pairofnothin took some back and showed QQ to Binde's 77. The board was A95410 and Binde got $7,893.84 for ninth.

Only a minute or so later, canalman raised to a million, four big blinds, in middle position. twin peaks07 went all in for 7.2 million to isolate and it worked. He took most of his chips back and showed JJ to canalman's AK. The race was on, and the board was 28746. canalman was out in eighth for $12,732.

After being crippled in a huge pot against Ralfinator with nines versus ace-king with an ace on the flop, Crawfdad went all in on the next hand. twin peaks07 called the small blind and McNAbb2 checked the big blind, creating a side pot. The flop was 58Q and the side pot checked. The turn was K and the side players checked again. The river was 5 and they both checked. twin peaks07 showed J9, and the pair of fives on the board was good enough to beat two other players. He took it all and Crawfdad left in seventh for $21,007.80.

Next, Pairofnothin made a huge re-raise – 3.6 million – over the top of Ralfinator's standard raise. Ralfinator requested time and then re-raised all in. Pairofnothin called, and true to his name, showed not a pair, but AK. Ralfinator had AQ. The board was 97106J and Ralfinator got $29,283.60 for sixth.

Though twin peaks07 would climb into the chip lead, after a long, 40-minute four-way fight, he would be next out when Pairofnothin shoved on the button with A4 and twin peaks07 called with 22. They were the ducks that failed, as the board was 4Q5KQ. twin peaks07 was out in fourth for $53,474.40.

Though the players were ready to talk deal, they had to get through another hand first, and it turned into a serious one instead of a fold-around. ClubbedBoat shoved in the small blind with A4 and McNAbb2 called with K10. The board was 9K63A and McNAbb2 had to settle for $68,625.48 for third.

A long argument over a money split ensued, with ClubbedBoat holding a 2.5 to 1 lead. Eventually, Pairofnothin settled on $110,000 to ClubbedBoat's $138,000 with $30,448.84 in the middle. Eleven minutes of heads-up later, ClubbedBoat made a comeback and won the event. Pairofnothin raised on the button and ClubbedBoat shoved. Pairofnothin called and turned over 1010 to ClubbedBoat's 109. The board was 72A88.
