Online Poker Weekend: 'Kid_Poker47' Claims Sunday Million Victory 0001

No, not that 'Kid Poker,' but another player with a Daniel Negreanu-like screen name on Poker Stars. 'Kid_Poker47' took down the Stars Sunday Million, courtesy of a couple of timely double-throughs at the final table, for a victory worth almost $200,000. Elsewhere, Full Tilt and Party Poker both eclipsed their pre-event guarantees on a night when a lot of unknown online players made deep runs to the big money.

Poker Stars Sunday Million

Another Sunday, another solid turnout at Poker Stars for the Sunday Million. 7,034 players meant a prize pool of $1,406,800, with 1,080 players making the money and first scheduled to be $198,358.80. 'DnCarlos' had topped $15 million in chips as the final nine assembled to decide the big money.

'MaroonLime' was the first of the nine to fall, his 99 not good enough to beat 'manager1st's JJ, with the 41028Q board changing nothing. manager1st moved into the lead and padded it over the next several dozen hands, and caught AA at the right moment to pick off 'Diabolo63,' who pushed with AK and saw it go nowhere as the board arrived 27938. Next out was a short-stacked 'delta,' forced in with a hand mucked at the river; 'Acey-Deucey' won a three-way pot that also included manager1st when his pocket tens stood up.

'blotzilla' suffered two tough beats to crash to the felt in sixth; on the second, his A9 lost to Acey-Deucey's A8 when the board brought 10Q59J for the runner-runner straight. That let 'Naf70' slide up to fourth, before Naf70's own final stand with QK was swatted away by DnCarlos, whose 55 stayed ahead with a board of 610J103. Acey-Deucey, though, ran low on chips, and couldn't drive manager1st out of a pot with Q10; manager1st made the call with a meager 64 and picked up the knockout when the board delivered 57489.

manager1st picked up another huge knockout when his A6 flopped two pairs against DnCarlos, who started with A10. The chips went in after the 6A2 flop, and a 6 and Q completed the board. However, 'Kid_Poker47' had doubled through manager1st at a key moment earlier, and did it just two hands after heads-up play started to move into the lead. From there, Kid_Poker47 quickly closed out the win. The final hand saw Kid_Poker47 push pre-flop with A10, and manager1st deliberated before calling with Q8. The board showed 2K6JK, and Kid_Poker47's win was in the books.

Full Tilt $400,000 Guarantee

2,211 players made it to the latest edition of the Full Tilt $400,000 Guarantee, with 351 players making the money and first place worth over $81,000. 'poxyist' led the way to a well-balanced final table that early on included no desperately short stacks. 'Zuludogg' was the shortest and was indeed the first player bounced, but only due to bad luck; Zuludogg's AA was cracked by poxyist's Q9 when the board delivered QQ253.

'bigbobm11' settled for eighth-place money when his 77 couldn't catch against 'SamH133,' who started with KK and stayed ahead when the board brought 6J893. Seventh went to 'Wake all in,' who pushed with QJ and found a caller in 'thorro,' who held AJ. The board showed 72252, and the field was down to six. thorro picked up the next knockout as well, when his 99 flopped and slowplayed a set against 'supergirl72' who had QJ and pushed after the turn on a 9A3J3 board.

thorro's rush continued when his A10 outraced 'Willibal's 33 to send Willibal to the rail, catching a straight when the board provided 9Q8JQ. poxyist was down and up and down and finally out in fourth, when his A3 didn't improve against SamH133's A9; the board on that hand offered 21064J. Then 'tkilpatrick1,' the shortest stack, doubled through twice to move into the lead.

The three battled on for over 50 hands before thorro sent SamH133 home in third. On that hand, thorro had A10 to SamH133's K10, and a low 5746J board offered no real hope. tkilpatrick1 and thorro see-sawed for two dozen hands before tkilpatrick pulled ahead and sealed the win. The final hand saw thorro commit to 55, only to find tkilpatrick1 waiting with QQ. The last board of the night was K276J, and tkilpatrick had an $81,000 victory.

Party Poker $300,000 Guaranteed

Attendance for the $300,000 Guarantee at Party Poker jumped again, with 1,568 players on hand. A first prize of $62,720 topped the payouts list for the 200 who cashed., with 'nillan21,' with over $1.4 million in chips, the initial final-table leader.

'Ananasbrus' bowed out in tenth when his KK was cracked by 'ksenya's KQ, the board of J5106A completing a royal flush. After 'mariandl' exited in ninth, 'anteroj111' was eliminated in eighth when her JJ fell to nillan21's K7, on a board of 25529. Soon after, with most of his chips dropped in a previous hand, 'ksenya' departed in seventh; that last stand saw 86 fall to the 98 of 'fcarrico,' with the board bringing Q7AQ9.

For the second straight week, this tourney then saw a six-way chop for the remaining prize money, with fcarrico in the lead and the deal struck close to chip-count numbers.

Ultimate Bet $200,000 Guaranteed

For the second straight week, a good chunk of bonus money (in the form of an overlay) was up for grabs at Ultimate Bet. 864 players made it to the weekly $200,000 Guarantee, with UB ultimately chipping in $27,200 of the prize pool. 90 players cashed, and first prize was worth $45,000.

The final table began with 'teecue's AK sending '21maddog' to the rail; 21maddog started with 77, but couldn't stay ahead when the board brought 9410K2. Next to fall was 'Chuck_A_Luck,' whose 44 was outclassed by the 88 of 'pokerich93,' with the 267107 board missing both players. Eighth went to 'theirbman,' whose last stand with AQ proved unlucky in a big way when 'jimmie23' gave it a go with K7, and watched as the board arrived 2K7KK, improving from a full house to quad kings on the river. jimmie23's luck didn't last long, however, and he was the next to head to the virtual rail, when his own last stand with K4 couldn't catch against 'myran2's AQ, with a board of 92833.

'Legato' claimed the next knockout when his A9 failed to improve on a board of 72375, but was still good enough to best 'Chubbs,' all in with KJ. But like jimmie23 earlier, Legato was himself the next one out, running KQ into the AA of 'Big Jew.' The board on that hand offered 8J947. Fourth went to myran2 when his 109 missed against pokerich93's KQ, with a board that showed KA883.

A long three-way battle between pokerich93, teecue, and Big Jew ensued, with Big Jew steadily adding to his lead. Finally, pokerich93 bowed out when his Q5 flopped a straight flush draw against teecue's AQ, but after the 467 flop, a 2 turn and A river left pokerich93 not so rich in memories and winnings, but not in chips. And finally, 'Big Jew' sealed the victory by catching in a big way with A7 against teecue, who started with QQ but couldn't get away from the hand. The board came 7A872, with teecue drawing to two outs when the last of his chips went in.
