WSOP Updates - The Spotlights Have All Been Extinguished 0001

Today Liz Lieu took her shot at the 2006 WSOP Main Event. Liz was probably in the best mood I have seen since this all began back in June. She was having fun at her table, arriving late, saying hello to friends and playing some hands. The turn around was easy to see and I am sure, very welcomed. The Poker Diva was happy and enjoying playing the big event at the Series.

So did the cards turn in Liz's' direction?

Did the table reads come back and did all the right moves work?

Would the cold deck that has followed Liz heat up?

Would Timmy follow Lassie to the well and save the stranded kitten?

Here is a hand that answers it all.

After taking several hits with the "best of it going in," Liz plays this hand:

"I'm on the button with KK; early position limps for 50; I make it 225, blinds fold; limper calls. Flop is Q83. I bet 1K, he calls. Turn is another 8; I bet 2K he moves all-in and has me covered. I can't put him on an eight; he called the 1K flop bet with middle pair? I call all-in and he shows 98c."

Sometimes it pays to read a table well and other times it pays to play like an internet rookie, I would suggest that the first few levels of a Day One is time to keep your head down, your feet under the table and your chips under cover, which of course is why I have so many bracelets…….

But the Diva was here to play today. Tony G. was here to play on Friday. Gavin was here to play yesterday. Playing poker is what the professionals do with many styles and many strategies. Some work, some days, some don't.

Thanks Liz, I had a lot of fun these last five weeks. Take some time off before you head back to the Bellagio.
