Last weekend the Mandarin Oriental in New York City played host to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia® (CHOP) and World Poker Tour Foundation's "All In" for Kids Poker Tournament, which raised $910,000 for the Food Allergy Department at CHOP.
The event, which was filmed for a future WPT episode, featured a mix of poker industry leaders, celebrities and sport stars. Representing the former group were 13-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth; WPT anchor Lynn Gilmartin and commentator Vince Van Patten; event co-founder Dan Shak; Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst; WPT Season IX Player of the Year Andy Frankenberger; partypoker’s Jamie Kerstetter and Scott Baumstein; and Rounders co-creator Brian Koppelman.
As far as celebrities and sports stars were concerned, they were represented by New York Giants lineman Justin Pugh; Philadelphia Eagles five-time Pro Bowler Mike Quick; three-time NHL Stanley Cup champion and New Jersey Devils legend Ken Daneyko; Philadelphia Phillies Broadcaster Gregg Murphy; reality TV star Evan Starkman; and producer Burton Richie.
However, in the end the event, which also featured a charity auction, was won by Lance Breitstein from Ramsey, New Jersey. Others at the final table included Frank Volpe (10th), Dan Shak (5th), Phil Hellmuth (3rd) and Dan Silvers (2nd).
