Ivey Crippled in Last Hand of the Night

Level 6 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

In the last hand of the night, Phil Ivey, who is looking to win this event for the third year in a row (and fourth out of five year), opened for 11,000 from the cutoff and Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 34,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Ivey moved all in. O'Dwyer called off for 189,000 total and the cards were turned up.

Ivey: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
O'Dwyer: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Ivey was way behind, but the {10-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop did give him a gutshot to Broadway. The {9-Clubs} turn gave him more outs as a club would give him a flush, but the {5-Spades} river was not what he needed.

Since it was the last hand of the night, I've was left with just 52,500. With registration closing the minute Level 7 starts, Ivey won't be able to reenter, meaning is quest for three in a row will begin on the short stack on Day 2.
