Hand #273: Van Hoof Falls to Shortest Stack
Martin Jacobson had the button.
After Jacobson folded, Felix Stephensen limped in from the small blind, and Jorryt van Hoof raised to 3 million from the big blind. Stephensen called, and the dealer spread the flop. Stephensen led with a bet of 4.3 million, and van Hoof called to see fourth street.
The landed on the turn, and Stephensen bet 8.5 million. Van Hoof called, and the pot pushed over 32 million going to the river.
The river was the to pair the board. Stephensen had 26.4 million behind and stuck out a bet of 15.5 million. With 50.1 million behind in his own stack, van Hoof went into the tank. The Dutchman eventually relinquished his holding, and the Stephensen supporters sprung to their feet to cheer on their man as he pulled in the pot.
