Callahan Ousted as the Bubble Boy; Doesn't Leave Empty Handed

Ryan Callahan

Cos Barillari got his stack all in on an {8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop holding the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and was well out in front of Ryan Callahan's {8-}{5-}. The {5-Diamonds} turn gave Callahan the lead, which caused some reaction at the final table. That was amplified tenfold when the {A-Spades} spiked on the river to give Barillari the best hand once again!

Callahan was left with a short stack, and he got it in on the button a short time later. Art Demmerley called him from the small blind and the cards were turned up.

Callahan: {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Demmerley: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

"I like that," Callahan said referencing that his cards were live. Indeed they were, but it did him little good as the board ran out a clean {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

Even though Callahan was eliminated on the bubble, he walked away with some cash as all the finalists had agreed to a $50 save for the bubble boy.
