Neto Takes Two Big Pots From Pashaj to Take Chip Lead

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Two big hands went down that saw Aristoteles Neto move into the chip lead right before the players bagged for the night. In the first hand, Jimmy Pashaj opened for a raise pre-flop and was called by Neto out of the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Neto check-raised to 46,000 after Pashaj bet 18,000. The turn was the {3-Spades} and Neto led out for 70,000 and was called by Pashaj. The river was the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked. "Queen-jack," said Neto as he turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. That was good enough as Pashaj mucked his hand.

A few moments later, Neto called bets of 17,000 on the flop and 42,000 on the turn and would take down the pot when Pashaj checked behind on the {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} board. Pashaj held {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for ace high but Neto had {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the smallest pair possible.
