Simao Takes the Lead

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

The player in late position opened to 2,400, before Joao Simao raised to 9,000 from his immediate left. The rest of the table folded back to the original better, who made the call, as both saw the flop come down {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Simao stared his opponent down as the flop was spread, and after the action was checked, he slid out a continuation bet of 18,000. His opponent instantly potted, which was for all his chips, totalling just fewer than 40,000 in chips. He was called, as both players tabled their cards.

Simao: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Simao would scoop the entire pot as the {10-Spades} and {K-Hearts} ran out to complete the board, as his two-pair was good enough to take down the high, as his opponent missed out on making a low.
