Shorr Busts in Huge Hand After Ruling

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Shannon Shorr opened from the button to 4,200 and was called in the blinds by Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren and Ariel Silveiro.

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and it was checked to Shorr who bet 7,000. Coren folded and Silveiro made the call to see the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. The Brazilian checked again and this time Shorr checked behind him to see the {8-Diamonds} on the river.

Now this was where things got interesting:

Shorr picked out a bet of 16,400 and Silveiro quickly grabbed several 5,000 chips and put them in the middle. However, he took back one of the chips when he thought he had put in too many. The dealer seemed to think that Silveiro had put in four 5k chips (which would equate to a call) but Shorr was not convinced.

"Call the floor," he asked quietly but firmly.

The floor came across; Mohsin Charania and Stephen Chidwick both said that Silveiro had put out five 5k chips - since this was more than 50% of the bet (24,800) then Silveiro was forced to put in the minimum raise to 32,800.

Shorr now thought briefly before moving all in for 108,100 putting the onus back on Silveiro. The Brazilian tanked for several minutes before making the call.

Shorr showed {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Silveiro flipped {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the second nuts to win the biggest pot of the tournament so far.
