Latest PokerStars Team Pro is More Than Just an Ambassador
Table Of Contents
It's been a busy year for additions to the roster of PokerStars Ambassadors.
In February, former EPT Barcelona Main Event champion Simon Wiciak was unveiled with Barny Boatman joining him the following month hot on the heels of his EPT Paris Main Event victory.
And now, a third European is joining the team, with Belgian poker player and tournament official Kenny Hallaert the latest addition.
Not only will Hallaert assume ambassador responsibilities, he will also serve as a live events advisor, reviewing global live poker events and providing suggestions to the PokerStars Live Events team — a partnership that PokerStars is calling the first of its kind.
Hallert's Poker Career
With two decades of poker experience, Hallaert is perhaps best known for his performance in the 2016 WSOP Main Event, where he finished sixth for $1,464,258.
However, he is also a well-respected and experienced tournament official having formed the poker rooms at the Namur and Spa Casinos in his home country of Belgium, and assisted with the management on the European Poker Tour, Belgian Poker Series, Belgian Poker Challenge and French Poker Series.
"I’m really looking forward to being part of the PokerStars team. My role as Ambassador and live event advisor will no doubt bring up some great opportunities, and I can’t wait to contribute to the constant evolution of PokerStars fantastic live events."
Cedric Billot, Associate Director, Live Events says he's known Hallaert for years and says he's excited to have him part of the PokerStars team.
"He has a unique profile of being both a respected player and tournament organiser," said Billot. "His passion for the game, wealth of experience both on and off the felt, and professionalism, makes him someone we are incredibly excited to bring onboard."
