Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Poker Room Details
The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is situated in Las Vegas, Nevada. Every summer it plays host to the world's biggest and most prestigious poker tournament series, The World Series of Poker.
The casino opened in January 1990, with a Brazilian carnival theme on display throughout as the name would suggest. Three years later, the property expanded adding more casino space.
A second expansion incorporating a hotel tower and casino expansion called the 'Masquerade Village' came in 1997, before the Rio was eventually bought by Harrah's Entertainment (later named Caesars Entertainment) in 1999 for $888 million.
The hotel first hosted the WSOP in 2005, with the last two days of competition held at the Rio as part of Las Vegas' centennial. Since 2005, the WSOP has been played out solely at the Rio, encompassing nearly every room of the property's 160,000 square feet of event space.
In 2019, WSOP owners Caesars merged with Eldorado Resorts, with the Rio subsequently sold by Caesars in a deal worth $516.3 million deal.
Inside the Rio you will find 100,000 square feet of masquerade-themed gaming space, with the casino floor, sports book and poker room easily accessible from the nearby Carnival World Parking Lot.
The Rio poker room offers 24-hour poker action with cash games of all stakes, and a daily schedule of guaranteed tournaments.

Despite this, it was confirmed that the WSOP would remain at the Rio for at least two more years, however rumours surfaced in 2021 that the festival would move to the Paris/Bally's Conference Center from 2022 onwards.
