The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Monte Carlo continues inside the amazing Sporting Monte-Carlo at 11 a.m. local time, with Day 1c of the €1,100 French Poker Series (FPS) Main Event.

On Day 1a, 58 players survived from 387 entries, while 34 out of 225 advanced from Day 1b. France’s Laurent Polito bagged the top stack on Day 1a with 575,000 chips, and Portugal's Hugo Machado grabbed the chip lead from Day 1b with 437,000.

Day 1c marks the third of four starting flights, with the final Day 1 taking place as a turbo later this evening at 6 p.m.

Expected to participate today are PokerStars Ambassadors who have not yet played or qualified, including Alejandro Lococo (PapoMC), Benjamin Spragg (Spraggy), Fintan Hand, Georgina James and Lasse Jagd Lauritsen (Wistern).

Also anticipated are Silver Pass winners from the PokerStars Power Path, such as Gerard Santamaria, Soraya Estrada, Luis Rayon Perez, Daniel Ruiz, Guillermo Sanz, Modesto Acosta and Alexander Kravchenko.

Players will be given a starting stack of 30,000 chips. Action will kick off with blinds of 100/100/100 and levels lasting 40 minutes, with 20-minute breaks every three levels. A 75-minute dinner break is currently scheduled to take place after the completion of Level 10 (approximately 7:40 p.m.), with late registration closing when play resumes.

Players are allowed two entries per flight, and each flight will play until 15% of the field remains, at which point all players will be in the money heading to Day 2 (April 26).

Three players built a pot of nearly 5,000 as they saw a flop of 889. Ioannis Poullos then bet 1,900 from the big blind.

Ben Guediche folded the cutoff, while Vladislav Efremov called on the button.

The turn was the 9 and both players checked to the 7 river. Poullos checked and Efremov tapped the felt back.

Poullos showed A3, but Efremov had 1010 to win the pot.

Chassagne Put in a Tough Spot

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

With 5,000 in the pot on a board of JQ24, Dionysios Kartsampas bet 3,200 from the small blind and Cyprien Chassagne called on the button.

The river was the Q and Kartsampas bet another 6,000. Chassagne spent more than two minutes in the tank before he finally called.

Kartsampas turned over A10 for missed flush and straight draws, while Chassagne showed AA to win the pot.

Kevin Belvedere raised from under the gun to 300 before David McConachie made a three-bet from the cutoff to 1,500 and got the call from Belvedere.

On the K33 flop, Belvedere check-called the 1,000 bet from McConachie.

It went check-check on the 8 turn.

The Q river led to a check by Belvedere. McConachie then bet 2,600 and Belvedere called.

McConachie showed AA, and Belvedere's cards went into the muck.
